What to expect from your appointment
A typical physiotherapy session for you, your horse or your dog is around an hour and covers the following:

1.
Discussion
A thorough discussion around the history relating to the problem; medical history, medications, current performance and any past performance issues or injuries.
For Horses, all ridden changes are all relevant, and behavioural changes in horses and dogs are all important to discuss.
2.
Assessment
A full and comprehensive assessment of the body biomechanics followed by a hands on musculoskeletal assessment of the problem joint or body part and surround areas.

For horses and dogs, a walk and trot up will be performed to assess movement and identify lameness. Followed by a hands on head to tail assessment of all joints, muscles, back and spinal health.

3.
Treatment
Targeted physiotherapy treatment of assessment findings and pre-existing conditions with manual therapies, exercise prescription, management advice and electrotherapy treatment where appropriate
4.
Report
A full report outlining the session will be emailed within 48 hours.
Where necessary, this can be made available to other members of your or your animals healthcare team (doctor, nutritionist, vets, farriers, saddlers etc) to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to recovery.

5.
Exercise Prescription
A bespoke home exercise program will be prescribed and adjusted as needed throughout the rehab process. I am available to answer any questions regarding exercises between appointments.
